Anyone who knows me knows that I am the takeout queen. I actually don’t mind cooking but when I get home from a long day at work all I want to do is change into yoga pants and sit on my couch all night. I’m so exciting! 🙂
Lately I’ve been trying to find ways to cook more meals at home and be healthier in general, so I thought an easy way to start would be by eating breakfast everyday. I’ve read a bunch of articles about the benefits of lemon water and mixing honey + cinnamon, so I thought of a way to eat both and cook the meal in under 5 minutes.
My new favorite breakfast…Drumroll please….
Oatmeal and lemon water!
Not fancy at all but super easy, quick, cheap and healthy. I heat water in my tea kettle while I’m getting dressed and when I hear the whistle I finish everything up in the kitchen. I use half of the water for my hot lemon water and half for oatmeal. For the lemon water I just pour the water in a coffee cup and add fresh lemon slices and some local honey. Then I add the remaining hot water to some quick 2 minutes oats and throw in honey and cinnamon for more flavor.
Ta-da — breakfast in no time! Now I have no excuse to skip breakfast 🙂
